These Stocks Worthy? Want to invest, can use some guidance and help
I pulled away from the stock market years back and never returned. I now want to get back into doing some light investing just to take a chance at making more money than I'm getting in a 1% money market right now.
I don't want to have to spend a ton of time tracking and watching the market, other than large announcements. So i'm looking for some stocks I can buy and let ride, and maybe get some dividend payments from or something.
Are there any good stocks worth investing that pay dividends or just solid ones to ride for the long haul? A family member has Campbell's soup and says they've always been a good stock overall, and dividend checks arrive every 3 months.
Anyone have any solid longer term stock recommendations? Off the top of my head if I had to guess at a few i'd list these, but realize I'm just guessing at these since I use their products or go to their stores and think they are decent companies. Figured its worth investing in some stuff I like personally. But, that doesn't mean they are worth buying stock in, so i'm open to feedback!
Johnson and Johnson
Well diversified
Home Depot or Lowes?
Not sure, but I spend so much here I figure why not. They are a second mortgage to most, and doubt they are going anywhere anytime soon.
Campbell's Soup
On the recommendation of my relative, seem solid
Walmart
Considering they are everywhere and doubt they are going anywhere anytime soon
GE
I know they've been a good stock over the long haul, not sure how they are at this time, but am looking for feedback. Know they are well diversified.
One of these tech companies, or different ones:
Amazon
I love them, have been a prime member before most, but not sure how they are doing
Google
Overpriced? Not?Pay dividends?Worth it for the long haul?
Intel
One of the best CPU chips, and are getting into cable by channel which looked cool
Microsoft
I know they've had their ups and downs, but I heard they have decent dividends
Apple
Have an iphone, like it, but so many people are die hards and figure that's worth investing
eBay
Know they took a few hits and people were downgrading them, but anything new with them making them a good stock for 2013?
Oracle or Cisco
Just because they have always been, and probably always will be great stocks, but again that is just a random thought, nothing to back this up.
Other Recommendations?
If anyone has any other solid recommendations please share.
