Funny... I walked in and they had my cables ready for me. The clerk said "You got these for $15? We charge a heck of a lot more... we find these to be good cables".

You're not supposed to be using the cables to create a bridge from your weak battery from the good vehicle. The proper manner of using jumper cables is to let the donor vehicle's alternator charge your battery.
