Pros:
Screen res/panel type 8GB RAM (and cheap to upgrade more if you want) Blu-ray drive (mmm AnyDVD HD + eac3to = win) Intel branded wi-fi Bluetooth 1TB disk space Windows 8 HDMI/cheap webcam Cons: Windows 8 1TB disk space 6-cell battery Con notes: Only if you hate Windows 8. Only if you want to spend more or already have an SSD. Only if you plan to use this powerhouse off a wall outlet often. $900 (and tax most likely) is a great deal for this feature set. |

I got this same exact model during thanksgiving weekend from lenovo at same price. Awesome laptop with bigger heat sink. I found it slow because of 5400rpm 1tb drive but I added 256gb msata ssd drive and installed OS on that and it boots up under 25 secs. Great laptop for the price.

I have one question and please help me, I'm beating my head for the past week going back and forth If i should purchase this one a alienware with a 7970 for double of the price. The thing it's this deal seen too good, but I heard a lot of problems with the GPU Bug where couple people have to send they unit for repair before even use it as lenovo wont send a new unit or charge 15% restocking fee. The extra money I would save from this I could get a new tv too and also a ssd, so I really want to jump on this but I'm afraid of headache which sometimes it's worth to pay more not to have it.
Here are things I would like people who got this to help me: Anyone had the gpu bug? If so when and what's the model number, reason I ask it's because maybe the reason they changed so many model from time to time was to fix couple of this issues. Anyone got it free of problems, and it's happy playing games and all on it? How long took it to get it? I have read people waiting most of the times 20-25 for it, but some report up to 3 months oO Backlit keyboard AFAIK dont come on this models anymore, at least that was what the rep from lenovo told me, he said it used to, but not anymore. What could be the reason they remove such a feature? |
