$250 - Pioneer VSX-1022-K 7.1-Channel Receiver

Can anyone shine in if this is a good price? I've been looking for a good receiver at a reasonable price for a while now and missed the Yamaha Rx-471 when it went on sale for $150 at newegg though it's 5.1. How much is this usually going for?

$250 is normally what I have been seeing it sell for. I actually picked it up for this same price on BF.

Just bought VSX-1122-K for $319 on sale but haven't used it yet. This seems like a better deal. Wonder the difference.

This has been the price for a while now. 1122-k is absolutely better deal. $320/- seems a steal only lacking is that it is not future proof with 4K up-scaling. All other features are same as for equivalent AVR in the range. Only other brand beating this price with features is Onkyo. I personally prefer pioneer though.

I bought this receiver when it hit $275. I wanted 5 HDMI ports on the back, ability to use an app to control it (though it is not full featured and somewhat slow at times, I use it to switch inputs and volume control), and I wanted it to support 3D. The OSD is very lacking. It is just black with large white letters.

Very happy with the upgrade from the VSX-815 that I used for ~7 years. For $250 you will get a lot. I am happy with the sound and receiver overall.

How does this compare to the Pioneer Elite VSX-50?

They had a v.me promo for some time. Keep watching and it may drop again. Amazon usually drops to the same price in a day or two.

Thanks. Amazon has had it at 359 for some time now, been tracking them and other sites (including buy dig) for weeks now and thats the lowest I have seen.

Yikes, I have no idea what most of those things actually are.

In terms that an average joe would understand, what would I be missing out that I would actually need with the 1022?

Do you even have a 7.1 setup? Most folks who aren't familiar with this stuff don't even have the system it's made to handle from my experience.
