You guys who are "happy" with this tablet probably haven't played or used other tablets. If it is fine for you, then enjoy. however, i have been using ipads and android tablets varying in brands and sizes. i will reiterate what others have allueded to. The single most important factor FOR ME in a tablet is the display. It is what you look at all the time, so whether reading a book, browsing web, playing games or watching videos, all of these tasks make use of a good display. That is my opinion but once you have used a tablet with a good display you will never go back. So what makes a good display? At this point IPS screen or equivalent is a must (which this tablet does not have). At the close proximity you hold a tablet, it makes it susceptible to viewing angle and washed out colors. Next resolution (and more importanly ppi). Some with disagree with this, but again you can live with lower resolution but once you have used a higher rez screen a bit of time, it is hard to go back.
With that said, the Nook HD+ 9 inch I picked up over the holidays for $200 with its IPS 1080p screen is a much better option once rooted. Asus tf300t can be had for $250-300, which is also a better choice. It gets you full tablet experience without rooting but 1280 x 800 rez, although it is IPS at least. |

I have this tablet and bought it during OD thanksgiving sale ($199). Screen is a real let down, but works really well indoors. So, does not bother me.
Had an issue right after update to Jellybean (4.1) from ICS (4.0), really high battery drain. I could not figure out what was wrong, but after resetting it problem went away. Really worth it for $199, not sure at $230. |

checked this out in store today, (ended up picking up a nexus 7) and the screen was pretty bad. Honestly I rather get the knockoff jazz [officedepot.com] tablet for $99 than this. it just doesn't seem to be a good in-between, either go with a nice display or a super cheap one.
