Kel Tec KSG 12GA Tactical Shotgun - 14rd: KSG
The KSG (Kel-Tec Shotgun) is Kel-Tec CNC’s first entry into the shotgun market. The size, shape, and design is similar to the currently available Kel-Tec RFB rifle, but the KSG ejects downward, instead of forward. The KSG weighs 6.9 lbs. and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1” overall length and an 18.5” cylinder bore barrel. Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 14 rounds of 12 gauge 2.75” rounds in total (7 per tube). It can also reliably shoot shells as short as 1 3/4" up to the 2.75".

This simple and reliable pump action feeds from either the left or right tube. The feed side is manually selected by a lever located behind the trigger guard.

The pump includes an under picatinny rail for the mounting of a forward grip, a light, or a laser. The included top picatinny sight rail will accept many types of optics or iron sights. Forward and rear sling loops are built in, and a basic sling is included. The soft rubber butt pad helps to tame recoil.

The KSG receiver is made from hardened steel and includes the magazine tubes which have been welded in place. The grip and stock assembly is made of glass reinforced nylon (Zytel) and is easily disassembled by pushing out 2 pins, which store in 2 holes in the grip when removed. The barrel and pump assembly is removed by loosening the 2 front magazine tube nuts with a coin and sliding the assembly forward.

Features
12 Gauge
2.75" Chamber
14 Round Capacity
6.9 lbs.

KelTec products are NOT know for good quality. If you want a shotgun that will shoot faster than this pumper, go by a 1100/11-87 Rem (used in excellent cond run about $250-$350.) and get a extension tube mag to get you to 8 shots (maybe 9). You can empty that baby in under 5-6 seconds..and loaded with #2 buck...NOTHING is more lethal. Another shotgun to seriously consider is the Winchester Super X2/X3...dial up a youtube video and watch how fast these operate..amazing.

LOL..just had a closer look at the KelTec's sights..iron sights are the only way to go for home defense..just get the bead in the general direction and the 12ga will do it's thing. I know VN vets who used Rem 870 pumps as their go-to guns while in the jungle.

I was wondering where I could buy a Remington 11-87 for $250-$350. I was at a couple gun shows recently and the lowest I could find was $500. Cabela's of course wanted $600 for a used one. Thanks

Please stop giving people advice about guns. Please. Nothing you said is helpful, and it's arguably all inaccurate.

Ok Dave, I'm giving advice and opinion on shotguns after shooting them for 40 years, and sorry to burst your bubble, but this KelTec is not a go to gun for home protection. And if you don't like what I posted, skip it. If you disagree, state your argument. Or are you one of those keyboard jockeys who have little or no experience with regards to shotguns? So go ahead and post something of substance...your turn.

Burkey, hit a local trap, skeet, or sporting clays club, post on the board that you are looking for a good, used Rem 1100/11-87 or a 870 pump (or whatever) and see what happens. I have bought many guns this way and saved $$. Check out pawn shops and if more than you want to pay, make them a offer..they get these guns for literally ten percent of value so there is plenty of room for negotiations. I picked up a Mag10 (somewhat rare) on a Craigslist post where I was seeking to purchase hunting gear like decoys, shell presses, etc. A lady in her 70's sent me a message about her late husbands gear and after seeing her shotgun, we met at a FFL to do the paperwork.
Good luck

I can't rationalize why there is the law to have firearms MUST be shipped to FFL!!!.
I mean the sellers could ask for personal information from buyers, get copies of their driver's licence via secure means, verify address on the drivers license and other information like mental health with instant background check with FBI database; and then ship the firearms using insured carrier requiring signature from the person mentioned in the package with the delivery person verifying the recipient is the right person.
Requiring shipment to FFL is just extra cost and time for the buyers and a big inconvenience.
I guess that's what Fed want, discouragement for law abiding citizens to own firearms.

Kel Tec makes too many gun models for their own good. They can't keep any of them in stock anywhere. Cabela's stopped selling them. It's like their R&D dept. just keeps making new models, but the production dept. never hires additional people to actually build the new guns.

I'm trying to track down a PF9, but not a single store in town has ever had one and said they're lucky if they get in 2 Kel Tecs a year. Either they need to raise their prices, or hire more people.
Ding ding! Spot on! LMAO

Haha. Just what I've kind of picked up on after trying to track down a Sub 2000 for over a year, and more recently, a PF9... There's always gunbroker.

they're FAQ is pretty clear. When you place an order online, if you want to cancel it you will be charged a 10% "restocking fee" for something they never had in stock.

You may as well go outside and light $25 on fire.

My bet is they simply haven't updated their website. Kel-Tec stated several months ago it's no longer shipping some of these weapons until some issues have been worked out.

You bring up a VERY interesting ?

With the current demand, just how long is too long? Seems to me, once a buyer places an order, the dealer withdraws the money from buyers account and can sit on it (w/o shipping) for...eternity?

I have a small example of this- purchased handgun on 12/26 -seller collected funds same day.
checked my account on seller site and it showed FFL received. (Shows same thing today)
BTW I did email seller the other day and they told me they were couple days behind.

I am just wondering how long is too long?
