i bought the sony - these dont last as long per some of the reviews. last year i bought an off brand for my car remote and it ran out after 1 year vs the original has been 10 years. I'd buy either ones.

They've been working fine for me in guitar tuner and photography applications for the few years that I've been buying them.

I give away more than I personally use because often jammin' buddies at Bluegrass festivals have difficulty tuning because their batteries are dead in their tuners. I usually keep a small supply on hand because I'd rather give them a new battery for their tuner than have to endure the pain of their instrument being out of tune. To me it's $3.43 well spent.....

Maybe the "name brands" might last a little longer, but for the price, these work fine for me.

So is there any way to tell if the batteries are fake or not? I've bought 8x maxell batteries for ~$2. The batteries all say maxell on them and the packaging looks real and their voltage is right.
