TD Rebates have been among the most reliable and fastest I've dealt with lately, and I do a few rebates.

When you take it down to a personal level, it's very different. If an individual screws me out of a purchase, I wouldn't buy from him again. But there are only so many major merchants. We occasionally get screwed by the big merchants but still go back to them. NewEgg is now RottenEgg, they irritated the heck out of me last month, but I still shop there. If it's a big merchant and there are deals like FAR items, sure I buy from them again.

Also, everything Kiara said was true regarding the leaking. It somehow doesn't squish enough in some places yet does enough that there will inevitably be some kind of leakage. The element heats enough and there are just enough nooks and crannies that this appliance will almost NEVER be clean unless you come at it with a toothbrush.

Anyways, save yourself and Mother Nature the trouble of throwing this into a landfill and avoid. This is one of those things that you really should just buy the best of, which only ever costs like... $20-30 to begin with (maybe something like this? [amazon.com])

I was screwed out of a rebate with TigerDirect, therefore I'm not going to buy anything with a rebate or no rebate. Newegg has always been good to me, I've made many purchases from them and have spent just under 10k with them in the last 10 years or so. I guess we all have different experiences.

I agree.. my wife bought a waffle maker for a $1 at walmart on one black friday. I used it last week and it was so hard to clean that I just snipped the copper wire and threw it in the trash.. It was such a pos. I'd much rather spend the money and get a nice one.

sandwich maker... I already have one. My sandwich maker also does my dishes, but she costs a lot more than free after rebate.

Bad reviews on Amazon

I have a different brand - so take this with a grain of salt.

My brand costs my grandmom much more than this a few years back.

It doesn't cut the sandwich in the middle if there is meat. You still have to use a knife because the plates aren't sharp enough to cut through the meat aspect of the sandwich.

Also, about the seeping/oozing cheeses - TEXAS TOAST PEOPLE! - Thicker bread will squeeze better thereby keeping more cheese inside the "sandwich". Don't use thin little slices of bread. Get the thicker bread and it closes just fine.

Last - Pizza sandwiches with fresh sliced (go to the deli counter and get sliced pepperoni - not the prepackaged vacuum sealed ones) with fresh mozz and pizza sauce are delicious.

With all that said - these are one of those kitchen gadgets that you use a few times and the novelty wears off. Then you end up making grilled cheese in the frying pan anyway in 6 months.

If you are one that actually uses alll their kitchen gadgets - then it could be a good buy.

reviews on amazon for this model are terrible. Like, even if it's free don't get it (terrible)

Wish i had seen this before i got married, way cheaper and less hassle to buy an electric sandwich maker.
