This seems to be a really good deal. Prices seem to be dropping now on the panasonic plasma sets, ahead of the super bowl. I'm expecting some price drops soon on the ST and GT sets.

Is a Best Buy open box TC-P55GT31 fr $860 a good deal? Is this a 2 year old model? is the difference between VT and GT that significant? Thanks.

Panasonic is announcing the 2013 sets as we speak, ZT replaces the VT. No more details yet.

I'm just glad they are still plasma's only champion. It would suck if they had discontinue it as some rumors have asserted.

The difference in last years GT( and ST) and this years models is significant Comparing last years GT to this years VT is huge This years GT to this years VT is much closer with a slight edge going to the VT...though I would pay no more than $250(65") for this years VT over this years GT |

I got the 55ST50 for about a $200 cheaper in the fall of 2012. I really wanted a VT but didn't want to splurge more but for this price I'd pick one up. Great price and if you have any issues you can always return it locally.
