By summertime, SSDs will be pretty cheap. I'll see what summer brings.

Why wouldn't you diversify your portfolio through shared/joint/mutual stock when it's 1) this cheap 2) high-profit possibility ? Do you buy stock in individual companies? That may be a problem. I hope I didn't encourage anyone to open up an account with e-Trade just to buy ONLY HP stocks. lol It shouldn't put a dent in your paycheck if you're diversifying and not managing individual stock options. |

Hahaha. No disrespect - I was just thoroughly confused by the way you stated that question. You should keep pursuing an EE diploma - it's useful anywhere! Although CS/CEG job openings are increasing at a staggering rate, EE majors are ALWAYS needed in any company (not just for tech. companies - even Kellogg or the hospital in your area will hire an EE major). It's also easier to secure a life-long career at one company as an EE, while CS/CEG is going the way of short life-cycle projects and contracts that keeps us from finding job security with just one company. However, here's my concern for you: are you looking to apply for a degree from a military institution (AFIT, Westpoint, etc.), or are you planning on taking night/online classes? I f you are taking online classes, make sure you enroll in a regionally accredited college. The Marine Corps likes to push the University of Maryland courses in the pacific rim since they have a good partnership (and UofM has many satellite campuses in places such as Camp Foster, Kadena AFB, etc.) However, Air Force active duty tends to be spammed with nationally accredited for-profit colleges such as DeVry or Grantham. It may sound counter-intuitive, but you want to be enrolled in a regionally accredited program rather than a nationally accredited program if you're going to pursue a job or a graduate program in the U.S. I've explained the difference in another thread, so I'll see if I can track it down and link it later rather than typing out another 4 paragraphs for description.
