Can everyone who just has 'heard stories about...' or 'has a friend who...' stop squawking and spouting off about what may or may not happen if and when a warranty crisis occurs?

If someone has first-hand experience with BVI's warranty process, please speak up.

My own personal experience with them has been buying a 24-105L lens. It was described up front as being formerly part of a separated kit. It arrived in a repackaged box and appeared very clean (I scrutinized trying to find something wrong and could not). I did not receive a warranty card and I was never told to send it in to Canon USA directly for warranty service. I expect that if I have problems with it within the 'warranty period', that I contact BVI and they help me get it resolved; how, I really don't care. If they don't then they are in breach. Being a lens that I plan on taking good care of, I expect the chance of a problem arising past the original inspection to be fairly low.

Not sure if this is a hot deal. $100 extra is reasonable for a warranty and peace of mind from purchasing from a reputable dealer like Amazon, B&H, and Adorama.

It is even a less of a hot deal if you required warranty repairs. You have to pay for two shipping fees that costs $15-20 insured per shipment.

It's sold out, Can anyone give me some feedback for shooting video. I'm looking at the Panasonic GH2 and wanted to know how this compares to that for getting a Cinema look. Thanks!

Pulled the trigger at around the 130 sold mark ... hoping its a legit new camera with warranty... they advertise it in the box! Just crossing my fingers...

If I was in the market for another one, I would probably consider buying a low shutter count, used, clean 60D body off Craigslist for just under $600. I paid $680 incl tax for my refurb 6 months ago.

Got a shipping notice and ups tracking number an hour ago. Pretty quick ship from the seller.

I received the camera today. I ordered two days ago, so I can't complain about shipping speed. I received a box for the 60D kit and they removed the kit lens. Everything looks factory wrapped and the warranty card was on top.
