I was just about to post this and ask others if they think it's a good value. I currently sell insurance but I'm pretty savvy on the computer. Looking to get into IT, can anyone else share their thoughts on whether or not this is a good value? Obviously the price "says" 97% off, but why would they make it so cheap?

Bummer that CCIE is not on there, a little off-topic but anyone have any suggestions/tips for preparing for the CCIE? I have the books and I'm going through them but was wondering if there's anything else I can do to prep myself better.

Anyone in IT have thoughts on this? This certainly has piqued my interest, as I'm between jobs right now and am considering a career change.

I did find this comment on a forum worrying.

"I actually found out today that this groupon thing is a total rip-off. I had somebody do some fact finding for me..

1. The IT University is not a Cisco partner.

2. The tests are NOT Transcender as advertised (We have a transcender pack for CCNA at home and there isn't a single question that's similar to the IT Universe)

What tipped me off about it is that there's no way that Cisco and Transcender can be paid royalties and IT Universe would still be able to make any profit on it. I showed it to somebody, and that person laughed when they had seen it.

One thing I like to do, as a consumer, is investigate something if I see it seeming too good to be true. I went ahead and phoned that state attouney general's office and it turns out that, even though it's just a groupon, it's a total work. (The training is cool. and whomever owns it rightfully put a good program together. But there are no labs, no books, no nothing, and it's something you could really use for an educational tool.)

I was asked if I was interested in joining a potential class action lawsuit, and declined due to the fact that I did not buy it.

I'm almost wondering if this IT University didn't get a hold of a master disk and resell it..

One other note.. Just in case they try to go ahead and do this with microsoft or comp tia or any of their other models, We did chat online with a few other vendors. Nobody recognizes these people as a legitimate training partner."

The training is ok.... for $99. I have viewed some of the videos and it is definitely not CBT nuggets quality of training, but then again you a paying less. Will it help you get your foot in the door in IT.... possibly if you devote time and look at the resources. Will it help you pass the exams most likely not if it is the only thing you are studying.

some people say its actually more in depth than cbt nuggets, and less in depth than train signal videos. after looking up reviews, and this has been offered as far back as october from what i can tell, the site is legit. the content is legit, but its not a one stop shop for everything. remember you get what you pay for, but also remember there are sites and communities out there for certifications that can provide tons of great content for free.

when i got my CCNA, i spent 2-300$ on all the material, just to learn later it was all free online just by community made materials.

hope it helps you, really those combined with the actual cisco press books ICND1 + 2, and maybe CBT nuggets or train signals will land you a CCNA. Just have the theory down, the Q&A is easy, but if you dont understand why, it will fail you in life!

lol if you fail using 9tut then just quit IT altogether as its a brain dump. To each his own on brain dumps but if you still fail while using them then you my friend are brain dead.

I started using this last night. So far I like what I see. Navigating through the video segments is easy and your progress is tracked so it’s always easy to pick up where you leave off. I've only started the CCNA portion and I’m not far enough along to say much about the content but the instructor does a pretty good job.

Wait, wait, wait, I walked in here and IDK what is going. Can someone explain what all this is to be? If I get in on it, will it help me get somewhere? What is this certification stuff? What is it for? What will it help me get?
