http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/feat..._is_needed Your TV is not listed but you do need a external 3D emitter. |

My brother-in-law has had the WD-65738 (same model year as yours) since it was new in 2010 and it still looks great as well (he's never changed the bulb). I can definitely tell a difference between his picture brightness and mine, however I'm not sure how much of that is due to settings, how much is due to the series, and how much is due to age. His TV still looks fantastic though (and he has better control over lighting in his area than I do) - it's actually the reason I locked in on my TV in the first place (I have been a Mitsu TV fan since 1988, and had been interested in one of their big screen DLPs for a while, however his TV pushed me over the threshold). |

I saw laser dlp at a magnolia shockingly but I personally didn't like it, was dimmer than the vt50 that I saw right next to it. I can't say the picture quality was better but for the picture size I guess this makes the tv worth it but not the physical size of this thing. I personally see it as pay less for less convience

^ agreed, overall the dlp overall isn't superior over a led or plasma but its only because of the size / price it's the reason people still buy it. That average cost to own a dlp will eventually cost more as parts begin to be scarce where they can jack up the prices despite them still supporting parts for this television

I saw years ago some video on the LCD screen degrading over time not the light source fading. At that time I think all the LCD screens used CCFL as the light source in the test. I am to lazy to try and find that video. In the end I say buy what you like and the only kind of TV I have never owned has been Plasma and many many people swear by them as the "best". |

does anyone have a comment/feedback on the tv stand included in the bundle?
i'm just worried something like this could happen: http://i46.tinypic.com/mkkev6.png |

Just curious about the viewing angle on today's DLP. I never bought one but my relatives did maybe 5 years ago. The PQ is decent but I noticed the viewing angles were horrible. I'm not exaggerating here. Is it much better today? I've always gone Plasma, which has excellent viewing angles from any perspective.

As the comment on "superior" I don't think a DLP is over any other type of TV. It is a fantastic value and for my viewing gives me a great picture that I get comments on from friends and family. If Plamsa or LED LCD offer a better picture on the high end expensive sets I would still choose DLP. Most people won't buy the high priced models like me. |
