The $150+ premium for a touchscreen simply isn't worth it. |

Right now, touchscreen laptops cost more to buy than non-touchscreen ones. If you don't see any value in it, that's reasonable. But not everybody feels that way. Time will tell if touchscreen laptops are/were a fad. |

Amazon has link [amazon.com] similar one with 6GB RAM for $722.

1. Touchscreen will not end up being a fad. It will be the standard for laptops - as with everything else, the price for touchscreens will continue to drop due to the larger supply and demand, and it will not continue to be a $150 premium. 2. Win 9 won't be a typical desktop OS, and shouldn't be. If they were smart, there will be a Windows 9 Touch Mobile, and a Windows 9 Desktop - that communicate and meld seamlessly together. That's what Windows 8 should have been - they should never have combined the OS's, or at the very least, made one OS that is capable of being installed both as a desktop version and touch/mobile version, and made this as easy as a push of a button. Not requiring people to buy Start button programs and the such. |
