If you cancel right when you sign up, you lose the hulu plus.
You will be required to create an account and provide a valid credit card. After your free trial expires, your subscription will automatically continue at the monthly rate of $7.99 plus applicable tax unless you cancel prior to the end of the 1-month free trial.
YMMV but FYI HULU PLUS is known to charge you a few days before the end of your trial period, in my case they charged me 3 days before the trial period ended and I had to call to get a refund. This was from the 6 month trial thread that got knocked down to 1 month trail.

Anyway, signing up with a different payment method (Xmas Gift Card) and I've since changed addresses from my initial sign-up -- but I'm now on board for more FREE Plus.  It left everything in my Queue as it was so "NEW SUBSCRIBER" isn't all that accurate.I signed up thru my e-mail offer before searching the forum here. Used a zero balance card from a rebate deal. It seemed to go through. I figured the "one dollar" authorization attempt would have bounced it back. So far so good.

I sign up for the free trial, try it once, get really mad that their PLUS / PAID service has commercials and rather crappy video quality, and then my account doesn't get used again for the remainder of the 30 days.
It's played out this way 4 times out of 4, I'm done...I've seen enough to realize that I just don't have any interest in their service. Thumbs up and reps for the OP, this is a good find, I'm just worn out from their crappiness. |

For anybody curious how this works, you can enter whatever bogus info you want in the Scott page - they don't verify your email address or anything. At the end of the signup process they give you a code on the site itself which you can then use at hulu.com for your free month.
Also, I was able to re-use a Hulu account I had used with another trial offer last year. I don't know what restrictions are really on this. |

For most other things, I'd rather use Amazon video on demand; more episodes available and no commercials, even though it's more expensive. I really wish they'd start carrying the Daily Show. |
