I can get a 55 inch schooner for half the price of this 27" monitor.... Also, My sony trinitron Flat screen 32 inch only cost me $500 in 1998....

Well, the Korean monitors have their place. The value for the price is exceptional for picture quality but the build quality and lack of options and controls are poor. You get what you pay for in that sense. I was lucky to be able to go to the electronics market in Seoul so I got my 27" Schimian for just over $200 NIB.

I'm worried about the longevity of my monitor. The Dell will have a warranty and I know people who have had their older 27 and 30s for what seems like forever. If the Korean one breaks I'm SOL. But I knew that going in. This is a great price for this high resolution monitor. 4K monitor prices aren't even being revealed yet so if I were in the market I would get this one.

Sure, their value in relation to the picture quality is pretty high.

But they still don't even hold a flame next to the Dell (especially the U2713H, not the HM) in regards to picture quality.

because 1080p is so last year. I propose a nation wide ban on all 27" monitors less 1440p. its a crime to have to look at pixels that big.

I got mine with 5 year warranty for $575 OOP shipped.

I am not sure if I am 100% happy with it though, as expensive as it is, it has issues.

But it only draws like 22 watts, that is impressive compared to the 60 watt koreans.

It was near Yongsan station, one of the stores on the first floor. I shopped around and most were within $15 of each other for the 27" monitors. I went with the cheapest one since I could.

I live in Japan and I have traveled to South Korea a few times on business so it was no big deal. The flight is only a few hours and it was a free checked bag for me. It was treated as fragile and worked great when I got it home.

The yen rate has been terrible until very recently so it was worth my time to buy it in Seoul instead of using gmarket and paying in JPY. Plus I saved on the shipping cost since I was there on my work's dime.

Have you used one? Because the picture quality rocks. It is an LG IPS panel used in other high end 27" monitors. There aren't that many companies that make 27" 1440p panels. It is a quality panel in a not so quality enclosure.

I haven't personally tested it directly against the Dell 27" but I have with a 24" Dell Ultrasharp (IPS) and they both looked great. They both blow my Viewsonic 24" (P-MVA panel) away.

Been using a u2713hd since September. Best 27" ips you can buy, especially for media and gaming.

If you buy a factory reject panel via eBay you're gambling like a fool and accepting low quality.

Where I said I lived is in south korea. I was just planning on going to Yongsan soon.
