Razer Hydra - PC Gaming Motion Controller $64.99 FS @Amazon
Razer Hydra PC Gaming Motion Controller - $64.99 w/ Free Shipping @Amazon [amazon.com]
I bought one of these a couple weeks ago, and it's a really cool device. It feels good to hold and use, and adds a new dimension--a sense of immersiveness--to my FPS gaming. I've been playing Far Cry 3 with the Hydra, and it's a lot of fun. Basically, I have the right-hand controller set up as essentially an air mouse ("Mouselook" mode, one of several available motion control modes). It works quite well, especially for PC gaming on the couch.
Be prepared to potentially spend a lot of time (hours) learning how to use the free developer tool called "MotionCreator 2" in order to program this controller for your favorite PC games, if you want to truly customize the controls to an exacting, perfectionist degree. I actually enjoy fiddling around with customization options, so the MotionCreator 2 tool is almost like a game unto itself for me
. However, if you don't want to mess around with creating custom profiles for each of your games, you can download pre-made profiles (these are called .MCE files) over at the Sixense forums [sixense.com] allowing you to use the controller for most new games without much hassle or fuss.
Worst comes to worst, you can always use it as a traditional dual-analog controller for your PC, if you decide that motion control isn't the thing for you.
