Looks like the Premier 4 (75hr) and not the 4XL (300hr). This is a $100 savings over the usual price for existing customers ($250 Tivo + $400 Lifetime). It's strange that they double the Tivo price while reducing the Lifetime cost.

$500 for the Premiere DVR that records only 75 HD hours? No thanks.
The Premiere Elite which records 157 HD hours was on sale for $311 last September. |

It looks like I'll be sticking with my TiVo HD until they get the upcoming TiVo mini to play nice with the 2-tuner Premieres. Then I'll consider upgrading (depending on the pricing of the Mini). |

One thing to note is that the 4 tuner Premieres are MUCH buggier than the 2 tuner Premiere and Premiere XL, so you're taking a bit of a gamble. |

Actually it's a quirky pricing deal. It's $550 with lifetime service. They artificially raised the price of the unit to $499 and are charging you $50 for LIFETIME. Depending on your circumstance this is a pretty good deal. Obv for people without cable this is a bad deal. |

My Tivo HD w/ lifetime unfortunately died in December, so this may be a good option. I tried replacing the power supply to no avail. Fortunately I owned it long enough that it paid for itself compared to renting a box from Comcast.
I just confirmed with Tivo that the Tivo HD should qualify. EDIT: I should clarify, it was a chat rep that told me the Tivo HD should qualify. I haven't tried it myself, yet.
