Deal Details

I just discovered on GoDaddy that they're offering their standard SSL certificates for $5.99 per year. You can buy multiple, and for multiple years, at this price. I'm not sure how long this will last. Let me know if it works for you.

EDIT: It appears that Slickdeals changed the link somehow (probably adding their referral ID) and so the above link doesn't seem to be working. However, entering the following promo code seems to work:

LKSRTL599s

Just add a standard SSL cert to your cart.

If you want a FREE SSL cert for your personal website, you can get free SSL Certs from startssl

http://www.startssl.com/

Not sure of any advantages the godaddy cert has over the free one.

Instead of OP's coupon:

I have 1 domain with several (4-5) sub domains setup for SSL. I bought a UCC SSL cert earlier this year on the cheap so I could set it up very easily.

Although it'll be a pain in the rear to manage 5 separate certificates initially, this is by far the best no-brainer SSL deal I've run across. Look at the savings!

Once on the GoDaddy website, go to the SSL Certificates section, add the SSL cert(s) to your cart, then add the promo code during the checkout process.
Alternatively you could copy & paste one of these addresses:

Nice, got 5 years of SSL for my site for $30! That's ridiculous.
Savings of $320.

Thanks!

Yeah what the heck is that about? Maybe because the OP's link wasn't immediately applying the coupon code even though the OP warned that it looked as though SD was forcing some other coupon code; their own perhaps?

Makes more sense. When I bought my UCC cert, I believe that's when the clock started ticking. I let a few months go by, then logged on and saw something that says "7 months to activate" which floored me.

so when you activated, did you just have 7 months left for the certificate?

Unless you activate it, the clock will not be ticking. And by the way, $30 for 5 years, this must be the deal of the year Smilie

No guessing on my behalf, I just purchased a cert and completed its install on a WHM server and know from there. You don't even associate it with a domain name until after you activate it. So you can purchase it for domain "x" today, and possibly activate it for use with domain "y" 5 years later when you are ready.
