Will AT&T UVerse price match Comcast Internet offers?
Hi,
I'm currently paying for Comcast Performance 12MBPS for $34.99 a month and that ends next Wednesday. I was previously on a $19.99 a month for 1 year plan before that $34.99 was effective for the second year.
I still see frequent posted offers on SD for $19.99 a month for 12 months for new customers under this speed plan.
I'm planning on calling or chatting with AT&T tomorrow about their current promo. They have a $19.99 plan for 12 months which is 3MBPS, and something I noted was that their equivalent Comcast Performance speed is called "Max" Internet, which is also 12MBPS, but their promo costs $29.95/month for 12 months.
So I'm trying to see if it's realistically possible to find a nice AT&T rep who will be willing to give me a "price match" based on the same speed plan of 12MBPS for $19.99 if I'm a new customer. I would use the excuse that their AT&T promos aren't competitive with Comcast promos for new customers.
So the first thing I'm trying to think about is if I should tell AT&T if I'm an existing Comcast customer or should I leave that out of the discussion? One thought is that AT&T might have extra incentive discounts or exclusive offers for people who come from rival companies, but another thought I have is that if they know you're coming from Comcast and your contract is expiring, they know you need AT&T because there's no other option, so they might not bargain with you.
What do you people think?
