Dunno why people use studfinders - nothing looks quite as stylish as a neat row of evenly spaced test holes running across fresh sheetrock.

I don't know what everyone's problem is with this studfinder...I used it to locate studs for an entire room renovation project and it worked out fine. If you aren't verifying positions of studs by figuring out the spacing and making sure your readings are accurate over 2-3 studs then you aren't doing it right anyways.
Studs will, 95% of the time, be located either 18" or 24" on center. If you can pick up 2 or 3 at a 18 or 24" spacing, then you should be good to go for the whole wall. Typically, your doors will have a stud that continues up on either side of the door and then a stud located somewhere in the middle of those on the top of the door. |
