You have to link the social stuff to get the miles. Twitter posted the quickest for me.

After carefully follow the procedure in the post, it works. I withdraw what I posted before.

I was put into pending mode and called the reconsideration number at 888-245-0625. Guy was very nice and said the issue was I had two other cards that were underutilized (other sign up bonus cards, thanks slickdeals/fw!!), and he moved $10k from one to the United card, no problem at all.

I would recommend anyone in pending mode to call the reconsideration number because its highly possible they would have rejected me otherwise, or sent me a letter 2 weeks later and I would have had to deal with it then.

The rep also confirmed the statement credit and the promo, and said it would be outlined in the welcome packet.

Saw similar deal at another site and opened a united mileage account for my wife a few days ago, but only got 30K offer, probably due to zero mile in her account. Did BCKSTGR offer (linked to a just created twitter account) and got 200 miles in united mileage account and the credit card offer became 50K, then did a flight search and wow, the offer changed to 50K plus $50! Applied the card and got instant approval!

BTW, my wife got 50K southwest chase card deal back in January 2012 and just had the card canceled earlier this month, looks like that does not affect her approval for this united chase card.

i had read the "Previous and existing United MP Visa cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer." fineprint as well but i called and the customer rep confirmed my card will be delivered in 5-7 business days! hope that's the case.

I had the old united card and had cancelled it about a year before i applied for mileage plus. I didn't have any problems getting another bonus 50k miles on my same mileageplus account. I hope you get them!
