Deal Details

I just did this, so I thought I would share in hopes that it helps someone.

I know this is not a new offer. But if you go directly to chase or united web site, the offer is 30K, while this link gets you 55k.

I have a trip for my family of 4 from Chicago to Jacksonville in March. So at the very least I think this gets me to check a bag for free.

I had a united card years ago from Chase. This is a united explorer. Usually Chase doesn't allow you to get the same offer twice. So it will be interesting to see if I get the bonus points (YMMV).

https://www.united.com/web/en-US/...thatsaplus

I got immediate acceptance.

I have 70K One Pass miles (now United) and I see this offer. But I already have Chase One Pass Mastercard (for which I did earn bonus), will I also qualify for these miles?
if you haven't had the united card before, then yes you will get the sign up bonus as a new member for the card.

got it to work. Will call and double check the 50K + $50 when I activate. I assume that is where I add the user for 5k?

It's not a matter of right or wrong. It's having a healthy dialogue and getting knowledge from this thread that you wouldn't necessarily be available on the Chase website. The recent Southwest Rapid Rewards card deal had such dialogue and if it weren't for this dialogue I wouldn't have learned about a different card which for me, offered superior benefits to this United card.
Can you share the link for that deal? I can't find it via search?

Thanks!

Do additional users have a credit pull done on their credit history when you add them to your card? Silly question, I know. Thanks.

Yes, you can call or do it online!

Nope, because the original cardholder is the one who takes all the liability in case something happens. They didn't even ask me for my wife's social security number when I added her.

Quick question, we can just close the account after you use the rewards right? And there's no penalty for closing that card?

this is the first time i've gotten the card, but to my knowledge, yes, you can close the acct after you use the rewards. there should be no penalty for closing the card either.

Trying to maximize the points before I sell them for cash.

Saw info on Netflix. Where is the promo link for trial? Going to add a AU and do a purchase online with that name. Anything else I am missing?
Yea, anybody have a link to the Netflix trial? All the links I found via Google are dead.

Thanks!

Rule of thumb on these things is to keep it open, at least, 6 months. Plus, credit wise, at the 6 month mark, your credit will be back to what it was before the inquiry and the lowering of your AAoA. I personally will have this card open until December, right before the one year mark. Occasionally buying a rockstar and paying in full before it cuts every few months or so.

I haven't gotten out the fine tooth comb for the rewards rules... but a lot of them require an account to be open for a few months. Throw the card in the sock drawer after you get the rewards and set a reminder for this Fall to close it. You don't have to but I highly recommend this approach to it.
