Swann Security System 500GB D1 4 x 600 TVL Cameras $300 Costco.com

Costco has this 4-channel NVR system [costco.com] with outdoor IP bullet cameras and network video recorder DVR for $699. That's not exactly a slick price, but then I haven't seen any especially low prices on NVR/IP cam surveillance systems yet.

On the plus side, this post [ubnt.com] in a security cam forum describes why the cameras are so good which is why I bookmarked the product page in case of a future price drop.

BJs has the version with an 8 channel NVR [bjs.com] (but just 4 cams included) on sale right now for $999 (was $1299 last week).

I'm sure prices will drop on this technology, but if you need it now and you've got that kind of money to spend then I'm sure these are very nice systems.

So if this was $400 and in black, I think it would be a slick deal indeed. Might shop around and read up more on this specific system.

I think you still need to have a computer on all the time though.
