This deal was ripped on 12-31-12, and will probably get ripped on again, but it's looking like more of a deal now that prices seemed to have jumped across the board on SSDs.

Micro Center has the full retail Samsung 830 Series MZ-7PC064D/AM 64GB SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal SSD with Desktop Kit for 59.99 + Shipping and or Tax.

Not the smokin' hot slick deal we all want, but it seems prices are on the rise for SSDs lately. Amazon has this for over $100. Newegg OOS and the B/WW model for $89.

If you are using the SSD as an OS drive/applications drive why does it need to be over 64Gb? I've got a 128Gb SSD from Kingston and it is more than enough as it is.

Not a bad deal. I've been looking for over a month and this is as good as it gets. Those ~30-40GB drives are nowhere to be found

yes but does that make it worth paying double the price per gb, only you can decide. for me its not worth it.

Excluding games, 46 gigs is used. Factor in the real capacity of the drive since manuf. refuse to put the actual size on them, and you don't have much left.

right...so you can do 2 or 3 games at a time. i can't imagine you would heavily play more than 2 or 3 games...right?

yes, there was plenty of good deals months ago...but I can't find anything decent below 60GB...and even good prices on 128GB

The closer you are to filling a drive, the more write amplification there will be, so performance and longevity will suffer on drives that are almost full. These days I would avoid using a drive under 100GB for windows, though they still might be useful for smaller linux systems or embedded systems or used as a cache drive.
