JBL Tempo High-Performance On-Ear Headphones (Black) - $20 w/ FS @ eBay Daily Deal

These seem like cheap (quality-wise) headphones slapped on with the JBL logo and marked up with a high MSRP. Looking at the tech specs, I'm not impressed. Frequency response is only 20Hz-20kHz. Even low-end JVC headphones (HA-RX300) have a frequency response of 12Hz-22kHz, and the JVC headphones were on sale at amazon for $7.50 recently and can be purchased regularly around $15. I don't think the JBL headphones come with a 6.3mm plug adapter either.

Hope someone can convince me otherwise that these are a good deal because I am looking for some decent, inexpensive headphones in the $20-$30 range.

Depends on the individual. Some people can hear as low as 12 hz. But, most everyone can FEEL between 4hz-16hz. So there is merit to his statement.

That being said, frequency response isn't everything.

Well read or believe what you will, but regardless, you can still FEEL frequencies that low.

The Sony MD-XR500's are considered some of the most bassiest headphones out there under a few hundred dollars, and their frequency range goes down to 4hz. So, can't hear that, right? Well, you can certainly feel it. That's what gives you that "brain rattling bass" feeling

Same seller on Amazon - listing price is 49.99. Anyone know about the sound quality on these? I am looking for decent base.
