Asus and Asrock are generally the most stable/highest quality motherboards available. I've purchased a total of 3 Asus motherboards in 3 separate rigs and none of them have had any issues.

So do you guys think these would be a better option based on the processor that I bought?

The Asus board is very nice.
The Biostar is decent, in fact I've used them many times,, but they're kind of economy boards and I doubt that they can compete with Asus for durability and/or performance.

I mean are those good deals for the mother boards?

Can someone tell me what the different numbers mean on the Intel processors? I was interested in building a core i5 system but found out there are like six different i5 processors. You've got 3570K, 3470, 3450, 2500k, etc.

Basically the 2000 series processors are the 2nd generation Intel processors (Sandy Bridge) and the 3000 series processors are the 3rd generation Intel processors (Ivy Bridge). Generally, the higher the number, the better the overall performance (i.e., 3770 is more capable than 3570 and 3570 is more capable than the 3470). Also there's the 3 different Core "I's". There's the Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7. Core i3's are generally dual core processors (better for laptops as they use less power). Core i5's are generally quad core processors with enough power to handle every day tasks and, on the upper end, more demanding tasks like gaming. The Core i7 processors can handle a much larger workload in the end when compared to the other two.

Thank you, bszelda. That cleared up some confusion on my part. I still would like an i5 setup. Just have to decide whether to build it or just buy one like this:

bszelda covered most of the bases, but left out 1 detail - the ones with K at the end are overclockable and have better integrated graphics

I'm not a big fan of Gigabyte mobos, although they seem to be pretty popular amongst gamers.
I'd buy an Asus or an ASrock, before buying a Gigabyte.
As for the ram, the poster who goes by the name larrymoencurly (sp) will be able to tell you if that ram is good or not.
