Almost back down to the rock bottom price. Good deal if you picked up an Onkyo receiver on sale over the past few weeks.

You save: $45.91 (77%)

The wifi version was a "slick deal" @ $20 recently, so stepping up to the bluetooth version for less is a no brainer.

what about the TX-NR609 ?

also, just to be sure;
this will send audio out to my bluetooth headset or is just a receiver ?

From looking at the description on Amazon, it looks to be a receiver only (i.e. music in from your phone / MP3 to your HT receiver).

For people with a smart phone, the free Onkyo App might be a good option:

This is a completely useless device if I don't have an Onkyo receiver right?

One can easily attach an external bluetooth receiver as well... I have this and it works fine. It regularly goes on sale under $20.

too bad i only have the tx-SR606 model with no usb, anyone knows how to hook it up to network?
The TX-SR606 doesn't have a network capability. You'll need an external device connected to one of the line-in options to get networking capabilities. An iPod dock with an iPod touch may be an option for you: Onkyo part DS-A3 or just use line-in.

will this work on the 809? I just got the 809 and haven't messed around with options to play music from my iPhone through it. Will this work for that on the 809?

Also, can I play music from my iPhone through my wifi network somehow in my 809 is plugged into my modem?

Yes, you can with the free Onkyo remote app. It can only play the music stored on your phone as far as I know. It wont play music that is streamed from online sites. For that you'd need bluetooth.

I spoke to Onkyo tech support and was told that this bluetooth device should work with NR809.
