More of an FYI than a deal, but current Discover More card holders should phone in to product change to a Discover IT. The IT is better in every way - it has
better rewards: (same category bonuses, but with 1% cash back from the first dollar instead of after 3k)
and lower fees: waived overlimit fee and fee for first late payment, lower interest rates.

Phone in to switch, no credit pull.

If you don't have a Discover More card, consider holding off on applying for a Discover IT until there is a cash bonus offer.

I'm about to cancel mine. Discover rewards are such a scam. They find any reason they can to deny cash back bonuses. Looking at my Black Friday rewards I would have been better off using my 2% Fidelity card, and I still don't see any of the bonus points I should have gotten in December. So far it's on track to be 1% back on all of my purchases.
Maybe you're doing something wrong when you make a purchase. I've used my Discover card numerous times without ever being denied a CB bonus. I went through shopdiscover this Christmas, bought two laptops, got CB on both. I especially like using my CB points to pay for purchases on Amazon.

No, it's not a new account. They just change the account over to IT.
No pulls, same account number.
did the expiration and cvv number stay the same? We can use this for ShopDiscover and 5% rotating categories, right? Seems like there is no negatives to changing... TIA Smilie

If buying something on amazon, you should use your CC so you can get cashback on that purchase too. Later on, you can get a CC statement credit or get one of their partner gift cards.

Yes you can use ShopDiscover and the quarterly 5% catagories.
I don't have my card yet so I don't know if the security # is the same or not. But thats only 3 digits, easy enough to remember Wink

Does anybody have any pictures of the design options for IT? I can't seem to find any pictures and I can't see it on the Discover website without submitting an application. I currently have the Discover More card.

This is worrying: "Unlimited 1% cash back, not points, on all other purchases" because I was interested in getting the points to do $50 in Walmart gift cards for $40 (in points) although it's not as slick of a deal since Walmart no longer sells Kindle cards.

Ehh... I am not in a hurry to use them. I have other cards to use. Their CS isnt the best from my experience. But Freedoms is... I called them one time because my dad's card stopped reading at gas pumps for some reason, and they sent one out the next day with 1 day overnight, their service is exceptional.

The Discover customer service has been nothing but fantastic everytime that I have had to call them.

I think my experience is the norm. CS is one of the things that Discover hangs its hat on.

I just got the It card as part of my recent round of CC applications. No sing up bonuses right now, but I figured I would get it for ShopDiscover.

Anyways - instantly approved for $6000 CL (Equifax 715, TransUnion 666). The card was shipped FedEx overnight (but still about five days after I applied for it). I absolutely hate the design - they definitely went after Sapphire with glossy front and no name/number - all the info is on the back of the card. Except it does not feel like a premium card as Sapphire does. Instead, it feels as cheap plasticy temporary prepaid card. Bleh.

For those who converted from DiscoverMore, is the 0% APR for 14 months being offered as well? I just called last night and converted but did not get the definite answer on the APR on the new card.

i was looking into switching up on this but can't really see any major benefit. I pay off the bill each month, never late... Unfortunately I reach the $3k required to get 1% cash back pretty easily... and that's for the year, so i'm set on that off the bat really.

Discover has awesome CS, never had an issue. I think i'm going to hold off until they have some sort of promotion or incentive to switch over. Unless there's something i'm not seeing?

Discover benefits > Chase Freedom Benefits. In fact better than Amex blue I would say
https://www.discover.com/credit-c...-benefits/

If you are not getting cashback as promised, a call to Cust Service will fix the issue.

I use it over my other 20 or so credit cards mostly unless I am in a chase 5% category or Amex promo and is not buying electronics (I like the price protection of Discover...so only Discover for Electronics)
