yeah, I currently use CS5, LR4 for graphic design & photo esiting and am very comfortable with both... But I'll look into aperture...
For video editing (i seem to dabble in everything), I use both Pinnacle Studio 15 & Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. Would LOVE to test out Final Cut. Have heard great things about it. Guess I'll need to get a new IPS monitor too or Apple Cinema/Thunderbolt display....

MAC minis are a joke, bought one returned it within the first 2 hours of use. wanted it for basic desktop use and found it way toooooo slow even for internet browsing.

If you don't have a monitor already just get an iMac. By the time you add the costs you only save a few hundreds and if you get an Apple Cinema display there are no savings. The iMac's are specially color calibrated from the factory so the colors you see on the screen are true to life. No guarantees with that $299 IPS monitor from Dell that you see on Slickdeals. Colors are pretty important if you do professional graphics/video work.

The Mini Server is a ridiculous performer. The 2.6Ghz i7 with 16GB Ram and 256GB SSD perform almost as fast as the new iMac and smoke the old iMacs. I actually thought about getting it, but I don't have a high quality monitor.

Normally I would say yes except I had a Mac mini that the RAM riser went bad on. Took it in for repair and it cost $400 for a new mainboard. The thing only cost $600 new. And they keep the old mainboard, fix it and put it into their refurb units.

That does make sense... Didn't realize the apple monitor ALONE is like $800-1000. Wow.

I've been building since about 2000, but I have a similar story. It started with the airport and an airport express, then a macbook air and now my family is about 80% Mac. I still think Android is a better phone OS, but I am strongly considering a move to the iphone just for the simplicity of integration.

I had a 3G iphone (not the s) and it sucked, I got a droid and everyone laughed "haha droid sucks iphone is the shit" I just laughed back cause my phone WORKED and I could do wtf I wanted with it (I did jailbreak the iphone, but it still sucked). Now those same people are slowly buying S3's and Notes years later not an Apple hater, never really cared for their products.. open source ftw.

Anyone try pairing this with one of the 27" Korean monitors using the Apple dual-link DVI adapter? Would be a lot cheaper than the Apple Cinema Display or a 27" iMac, but the dual-link DVI adapter seems to get bad reviews.
