Looks like sequential write is almost twice as fast. That should be noticeable on large files.

Also the reliability is much better. 840 uses TLC NAND. Also the pro has a 5 year warranty.

AND nobody is selling the 840 for $160 right now, let alone $150, so I don't understand your mention of 50-60 dollars.

Yes, storage prices in general have crept up over the last couple of months. There was a glut of cheap SSDs in Oct/Nov and HDD bottomed out in early Dec. This is only a hot deal if you need to buy now and can't wait. But then again, holding off on buying for new tech to come out and drive down prices of existing tech isn't really what SD is about Wink

Errr no. That was for the 830 or 840 non-Pro.

This is the PRO version. I think this is the lowest it's ever been.

Good question. Having dealt with Samsung warranties with laptops and monitors, they tend to not care where you bought it. I'd like to know this as well, just to be certain.

You're talking about the high-end best in class consumer drive, the price premium is because it's the best. These are the lowest prices it's ever been, and damn these constant alerts.
