Is this a good computer if I want to upgrade the video card to maybe..... a GTX 670 or 680...
I don't think the GTX 680 will fit nor will it run with the current power supply.

I'm not sure about the GTX 670 :'(. I THINK you could squeeze it in.

Seems like a good computer... Looking for a gaming computer for future gaming.. (aiming at Battltfield 4) I guess I will wait couple more months before I pull the trigger.

Speinding $1200 - $1400 for the tower alone is okay for a gaming PC, right? I normally look at cyberpowerpc those kind of places. Any other places with good deals?

those cards can pull a lot of watts under load, so unless you swap out the psu i wouldn't recommend it. unless of course, you play with lower settings...but then what's the point of those awesome cards?

not to mention the monitor is only capable of registering 60 fps, and it may not even fit

you can build your own to save a few dollars, otherwise yes that $ amount should get you a nice tower. this deal isn't good for a high end gaming pc. this is a good deal on a really nice monitor and for someone who does cpu heavy projects.

Not really worth it. There are better monitors out there for lower price. Could build a system with better specs ranging around the same price. Just upgrade the PSU, GPU, and possibly throw in a SSD for an acceptable gaming computer.

i don't know why everyone's litmus test for a good deal on computers is "can it game?" this is a good deal for what is, which is NOT a gaming pc.

Can someone who bought this tell me the breakdown of cost between the computer and the monitor on the order confirm?

Seems like a real good deal. I am starting to wonder if it is better than the 660 deal for $449 that I got in on. I think I might indulge in a little buyer's remorse.

For like $450 more, you get a monitor supposedly worth $400. Plus a better video card, more RAM, Bluray, and a better processor.

This is actually the best non-gaming card that we have seen on ANY desktop deals, any brand, including the XPS 8500 ones that hit the FP.

The other thread is in a Coupon forum, so it did not set off alerts and people missed it. Additionally, it misrepresented the monitor as U2412M which is lower-priced than the U2410.

For comparison, an identical XPS 8500 configuration with a U2412M screen was on the FP at $949. If you really care about this U2410 screen, it is probably worth the extra $50. BUT... Back then, there was an Amex and/or Gift Card deal going on which lowered the price. Not sure if there are any ongoing discount offers now.

HINT:The monitor is shown in the cart as a separate line item worth $549. Hmm, a $450 loaded XPS 8500... A freaking steal in my book. Hotter than hot.

I could build a pc like this for 350.00 that can run battlefield 3 at 80 FPS on the highest resolution. Big Grin
