Not bad. #1 rule of kayak storage is: Kayaks should be stored on their side though so as not to warp.

Looks like the paddle boat we use on our lake will now have a nicer home.
Specs say for garage ceiling up to 12', mine is 14'. Will let you know how that goes.

I purchased one of these for $5.00 more on Amazon (so this is a good price). Works great to hang my canoe. I first mounted it to a 2" x 3" wood stud after painting the stud to match the ceiling color. Then I lag bolted the stud to the ceiling at each joist location.

I can't tell how far apart the hooks can be, but I am curious if I can mount a 28' extension ladder on one? I would say the hooks would have to be at LEAST 10' apart to be safe...

They recommend the hooks be mounted anywhere from 6 to 8 feet apart. However, I don't see why you couldn't mount them farther apart, except for the fact that you may need to buy a longer length of rope. |

But understand that I mounted the pulley brackets with four - 1/4 inch bolts into the 2" x 3" stud and countersunk the nut end so the stud would fit flush with the ceiling. Trust me, it's not going anywhere! |
