They are still available in Renton WA (zip codes 98055 - 98059). Seattle WA or Bellevue WA are within 50 miles.

You should be able to add a Seattle, Bellevue, or Renton shipping address to your amazon account, call Amazon large item customer service at 866-423-5355 and give them that zip code for the price match. Instead of placing the order with them right then ask for the 24hr price match option which lets you place the purchase online within 24hrs while still qualifying for the price match. You can select any shipping address that way when you actually check out. Using the 24hr price match option you pay full price up front but Amazon will refund the difference to your credit card once the item ships. You also get 2% back in amazon credit which probably get's computed based on the original purchase price Big Grin

Good luck!

This is because samsung changed their policy last year similar to bose and apple to price fix their products. You only see discounts when samsung allows it.
Which is why this was/is a good deal. A Samusung 60in for under $1K ...take this same TV and add 3D and wifi and its easily $1500-$1800 regardless of the ok PQ, the low motion rate, or any other shortcomings this set may hold.

Lets see how long it will take another 60in Samsung to be under a grand. With this fixed pricing that Samsung has started, it will take maybe the Superbowl weekend for another good deal.

Dan if brightness is your thing that 799 plasma is awful the panasonic ... Had it and it buzzed and very dim this LED crushes it maybe not all the dark colors but brightness and clarity .. The plasma was grainy too
Yeah, I think I'm going to return this Samsung LED (great price and all) and try the LG 60" for $799 at Costco.

I tried this when I already checked out and when they gave me the discount the shipping address was locked and I couldn't change it. Are you sure this works or you are just making a guess?

it's a decent TV, but it didn't fit my criteria. Slim TV, SmartTV, more than 3 HDMIs (only two HDMI 1 USB on samsung) , able to use VGA cable for business laptops (No PC port). So if i want to make it a smartTV with those android sticks, i'd be out 1 HDMI and 1 USB. But the huge downside for me is the No VGA port and you have to use HDMI (there goes another HDMI) for your PC. So if you have business laptops that don't have HDMI then no workie. There was recently a slim 60" Sony that was 999 at fry's that fit what i wanted but that one can go lower because it has and i missed it.

Get an hdmi switch for crying out loud .. They are dirt cheap I'd rather have better quality TV than a Sony with extra ports lol

You can get one of these so you're not limited to finding a TV with VGA port.

Yea i thought about that, but then it made more sense If i was to have to get additional equipment just to make it work, why not pay a little more and buy a set with all the features I need. But thanks for the suggestion.

Yea the Tv is decent. But HDMI is a contributing factor to the decision, what really killed it is the lack of a PC port.

Keep in mind that cable may not do it if you are going form VGA on the pc to HDMI on the tv. You are going from an analog to a digital and hence would need a seperate decoder/encoder device between the pc and tv. It will work however if you are using that cable to go from a HDMI source into a VGA display.

I didn't have the problem b/c I am lucky enough to actually live within 50 miles of a Fryes w/ some in stock. I did do the 24hr price match. The rep I talked to asked for my zip code, then sent the standard email that has already been quoted earlier in this thread outlining the price etc and that I can get a refund once the item has shipped (had to click a link to accept the offer and provide my order number). The next morning I ordered the TV online like I would order anything else from amazon (for full price). During check out it asked me to select my shipping address. Nothing was "locked in", just a normal check out.

Also, the email they sent out doesn't mention anything about it being conditional to a certain shipping location. It seems like once you got the approval confirmed (the hard part) you are good to go.

ordered one.. went to the store and they cancelled my order..

Which gave me all the incentive to start a "Frys sucks" group on facebook!
