I have used this site to get several subs recently. You're prolly correct about the email thing; you dont have to link to FB to use Rewards Gold. Try just signing up with your email at their homepage.

I did this for the the games deciding the playoffs. (Picking winners and scores) Got 2 emails from Rewards Gold in the past few days to select a free mag. Not extremely impressed with their selection, but they have always showed up from this company so I just extended 2 I already get from them.

I have been using rewards gold for years....if you get an email like OP did and can't find a Mag. your points will be banked to use in the future....I have 9583 points in my account...just waiting for something I like or something to renew
