Sends more power, but causes the battery to heat. I cannot use these on my phones while using the GPS app for extended (several hour) trips. Causes the battery to heat too much which in turn stops it from charging even though its plugged in. Putting the phone infront of the AC vent helps tho. For normal car charging with the phone not running constantly there are no issues and it can charge most the battery in about 30 minutes.

I have few of the micro USB version of this and they work great. Everyone note that this is for the MINI USB version of this charger. I think it would be a pain to have to deal with the adapter to convert to MICRO. If you have a phone that's less than 3 or so years old it most likely has the MICRO plug on it.

Potential buyers BE WARNED, that if you have this connected to a dock or position the tip of the cable at ANY type or form of an angle, you will be plagued by connectivity issues down the road. I've gone through three, all suffering form the same fate.

i agree, had the same problem, end up buying this charger [amazon.com]
$7, its made by motorola so its compatible with most of their phones and its a Dual usb port rapid charger too. Have it for over a year without any problems. plus the tiny white LED light will not blind you LOL

the chances that this is genuine motorola are slim to none. this design of car chargers is one of the most counterfited ones out there. your phone may overheat while charging, among other complications.

Bought 2 of these a while ago. I have had tons of cheapo chargers/adapters over the years and these are the best by far. The wife broke hers by accidentally yanking the phone (really hard) out of the car while it was connected. In for 1 more. Thanks!
