Sony KDL60EX645 60-Inch 1080p 120HZ Internet Slim LED HDTV (Black) - $1298 w/ FS @ TigerDirect

I've been looking at this TV since my 60 inch Vizio crapped out after a month. Sony Store has it for $1499 plus tax, but I can do zero % financing for 36 months. Ugh. I guess Amazon does not price match TigerDirect???

HI sure they do, but it has to be a tv sold by Amazon, not one of the third parties.

The TV is sold by Amazon direct [amazon.com]...

But I don't know if they match when there is a coupon involved. Some people have reported being able to do it. I guess it's YMMV on the rep you get on the phone.

Hm, what are the thoughts on this? I was considering plasma but this seems like be better for a room than can sometimes be bright...

Can you Skype with this TV? I see that it does have wifi but doesn't have Skype. How would it work? Thanks!

Now that would be a slickdeal! Yeah, if you go into the reviews there's a ton of people complaining that they are lumping the sizes together. And the panel manufacturer apparently changes from size to size, so some reviews might not be accurate.

For me, it appears to be a good middle of the road TV. I trust the Sony name. I made the mistake of buying that 60" Vizio because it was cheaper and got nailed.

I read that it has a semi-matte screen, so glare is less of an issue in a sunny room.

I have kdl60nx810 I bought from Sony 2 years ago. Its fine and all but its not the same build quality I was used to seeing 20 years ago. Sony had a lot of issues with some optical block problem in their tv's a while ago, and oit went viral on facebook. Sony ended up replacing or upgrading at a small cost. Compared to the other brands out there it outperformed. I have no regrets other than buying into teh 3-d BS. Theres no content and espn 3-d is o.k but it really was a waste for me.

Thanks for the info. For me it's between Samsung and Sony, although Sony doesn't have many options in the 60 inch range. And it seems the mid-range Sammy's are hit and miss, and only come with 2 HDMI, which kills it for me. Should I be looking at other brands? Panasonic maybe?

This was $999 at Fry's about two weeks ago...just so people know, i know its not now, but for those that are wondering if it will go any lower.

Bayman thanks for the heads up.. I am debating between this or the Sharp LC-60LE640U.. Both very hard decisions. Been doing a bunch of research but if this TV has been lower before, I will wait for that.. Even though Superbowl season is right around the corner.
