In 4 1. Hope the band is as tight as the amazon review says it is, else, I'll have to replace it a traditional.

Can someone recommend a good strap for this watch? I am willing to spend $10 to $15 to get a good strap for this watch. I like the dial a lot.

That wa smy reason for buying it as well. I like the cleanness uncluttered look of that dial.
Ashford's free shipping appears to be USPS Priority. At least according to my tracking number. Nice.

Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe a dumb question. While searching I came across 20mm and 22mm band. What will be the correct size for this Seiko?
Update: I found from the description that Band Width: 20 mm. I am assuming that this is what I should buy. Is this correct?

Uh, I'm not dissing Citizen because they are a great watch brand too, but they are not better than Seiko. In fact, Citizen sometimes uses movements made by Seiko in some of their watches... I would definitely recommend Seiko over Citizen, but again, not saying Citizen is not good. BTW, I've owned a Citizen Eco-Drive before (got stolen...). It is indeed a good watch, but I wouldn't say it was better quality than any of my Seiko's.
Have to disagree as for the eco drive series. Seiko has a broad variety of watches, as does citizen. Some high end and some not. If you want to compare this watch to a $250 retail eco drive, I'd have to laugh. Its not near the quality. Many of those $250 retail watches from citizen can be found online for $100. This just doesn't seem like something Seiko has that's high end, seems like a cheap watch with a stretch band, not really front page worthy given open market discounts on better watches. I've owned many watches. I have 3 eco drives, 2 seiko's (1 is old) and a pulsar which basically is Seiko (pulsar = debranded Seiko in some cases). Many people say well my Seiko is better quality than that pulsar and pay $300 instead of $100 for a watch, simply for a name! Unless your wallet takes a great hit, Seiko simply can't compete with citizen, at least around this price range online around $100. You have to dig deep into price with Seiko to beat an eco drive in quality. This SURELY isn't deep enough, I'd go $40 more and get a much better watch.

Nice watch...but I'm sticking with my Seiko automatic. I'm guessing that a battery, even a solar powered one, will eventually need changing, and I'm hoping to keep my watch water resistant for a bit longer than that...!

Yah, well, from working with my father who was a watch wholesaler when I was young, to working in a retail store in watch repair and sales, I know what a Pulsar is, I have 2 of those too, but thanks anyway for explaining, I guess there are others who might now know. I'm not trying to compare THIS watch with the Eco Drive because I don't own this watch, I was comparing Seiko to Citizen in general... Obviously a Citizen with a MSRP of $250 will be better quality than a Seiko with a MSRP of $80...

Understood. I was going for more so a suggestion to this deal. Both brands are too diverse to compare as wholes, at least for my knowledge. I do know this is not front page worthy though, given what open market offers. I mean, just think of the whole line both companies have. I don't doubt seiko has much finer quality available, and I actually hate Citizen watches in the $600+ range. But given this deal, and whats out there on the internet at this price point for citizen, I just don't see how this is a deal at all. I think one would seriously find the Citizen Eco Drive bm8400 for say $100 a much better buy. Same silver color, not a stretch band, and I just think its better quality.

May want to check though, MSRP of this watch was like $175, not $80. I'll go under the assumption that watches should sell for 40% of MSRP, not even half (shopper should note this). So a a citizen eco drive should be $100 and this watch should be $70 respectively. The extra $30 would definately be worth it.

Generally, hands down, I'll agree seiko HAS better top models, just not at these price ranges. I think a thrifty guy snatching up eco drives on ebay will be happier then the guy waiting around for "deals" like this that are warm, but not a hot deal.

Watch came in today. Box states $175 MRP. I'm very happy with the watch. The dial is as clean as the picture and very easily readable. I like the 24 hours circle. It's small enough not to interfere with a quick glance, but there and readable if I need it.

The stretchy band doe snot mess with the hair on my arm and is very comfortable with a subdued but to me pleasant design.

First time I ordered from Ashford. Do they always stick in a little bag and microfiber cleaning cloth with the order?

My solar watch starts having problem today. The watch is so slow. I wear it everyday and it has never been put into "darkness" except during sleeping time.

I am not sure what to do now. Did I get a lemon?

So far so good. Had to bring the watch to adjust the band. $4.00 not bad.
