Very good price, but:

I've been using a "used" one of these from Amazon for a couple of months. The handle is kinda chipped, but it works OK. The inside grippy part of the handle is fine.
As for the link above, I don't do kettlebells so I can become elite, I do them because they don't bore me to tears. And I've lost a shitload of weight, so maybe they're better for chubby dudes like me. |

Kettlebells are becoming very popular in Crossfit gyms. There are a few gyms that opened here recently in WA that just do kettlebell classes. |

Mine was delivered today. Should have taken a picture of it. Imagine a 50 lb kettlebell sitting inside an open-topped amorphous blob made of bits of cardboard and packing tape.
Amazingly, the kettlebell itself seems to be in fine shape -- no noticeable chips or scuffs beyond what you'd already expect. |

"But their body types, skill sets, and training methods are as varied as are the sports and athletic contests in which they compete. Do you know what they all have in common? That’s right: not a single one of them got where he is today by using a kettlebell. Think about that: not a single one. Of the hundreds of thousands of high-level amateur athletes alive in the world today, not one reached his or her peak exclusively with kettlebell training. And of the tens of thousands of professional (and ex-pro) athletes around the globe, not even one got to the elite level by using kettlebells as his sole means of strength and power training." How does the author of your article know this? Did he interview the "hundreds of thousands of high level athletes" in the world? Does he include any links to support this? Does this guy even use kettebells himself? I have used KBs for years, I have a 36, 50 and 62 pounder, and have never had any repetitive stress injuries that the author of your article fixates on. If you like isolation exercises, use a dumbbell or machines. If you want to incorporate your entire body into each exercise and teach it to work together (as in the swing, press, get up, or my fav, the squat thrust>double high pull> catch & full squat) instead of a collection of parts, use a KB. It is well enough that the people of this nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning. -Henry Ford |
