9000 series is their flagship. Way overpriced though

I bought the 60" 7150 series at Costco for $2450, returned it to get the Black Friday price of $1,950, then called for a $200 credit (offered as a gift card but they just credited it to my account) that was offered at the end of the year.

Feeling pretty good about the final $1,750 price for the 60".

How is it that Abe's of Maine are the only sellers that have the Samsung un46es7500 for $1305? That's a really good price and I've been waiting for a good deal fr this tv.

Somewhat, but at one size of 75" at $9000, is hardly to be considered consumer-grade, or a slickdeal.

The ES8000 is the consumer flagship model with more than one size available. Samsung ES TVS are Unilaterally Price Protected, and this is the best deal thus far offered on the 8000. Like I said, and others have noted, RETAIL IS $2897, Lowest Price has been $2497. This is a good price for the TV.

UN55ES8000 is probably better.
Samsung flagship models have the best picture quality than any other tv manufacturer and that is why they are so stuck up.
You will get better price/performance with other brands.

I have the 55" of this model and don't regret it. The only downside of the edge lit displays are that they might have slight-moderate blooming effects as oppose to the full planel display sony makes. All in all you can't go wrong with this tv...has duo core too so pretty responsive

Now the next question, What is the significance of this authorized reseller thing?

According to the Samsung website, "Products purchased from authorized Samsung resellers are eligible for Samsung’s 1 year limited warranty coverage in the event the product may require warranty service". So, for any reason if there is a service need, Samsung can deny it just because it's not purchased from one of their authorized resellers.
