If you are talking about Walmart gift cards- yes I went there last week. I was able to buy a gift card with a gift card. As I said before, the only gift card you can no longer buy with a Walmart gift card is a prepaid visa/ mc gift card. you still can buy walmart gift cards with a walmart gift card Here is another data point:

You know what....not all Walmart are created equally, some can be pretty anal. Why don't you try to go to the Stanton Walmart. You will be shot down. So you just got lucky. |

What I normally do to protect myself is that once I get a gift card from these 3rd party resellers, I bring it to the store and transfer the whole value to a new empty GC- this insures that the original seller who had possession of the initial gift card cannot use the original gift card several months down the road. You said you had a Marshalls store near you. If you choose to buy these discounted GCs, you can bring it to the Marshalls store and transfer the entire value from the GC you receive into a new GC. Again, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods belong to the same corporate entity and GCs can be used at all 3 brands. Last edited by ultrasoul; 01-20-2013 at 02:08 PM.. |

if you're talking about walmart gift cards, ALL walmart (and sam's club) gift cards can be used online. what mrmoomoo is talking about is that a physcial GC is needed to use it at a B&M location. Walmart employees cannot key into the register the GC number to use the GC balance. There will not be a security issue with online usage of GC as there is a PIN that has needs to be scratched off to be used online. This scratch off PIN is not required for B&M use as a physcial GC needs to be present (Walmart employees have to slide the card's magnetic code and then scan the GC's bar code for security reasons). |
