This typically retails for for $50. At total wine & more, it's $53.99. Over 30 bottles available at Costco in North Las Vegas.

How is it rated?

WE 96-100 Pts - According to the Wine Enthusiast: The wonderful bouquet includes scents of bacon fat, honey, orange rind with deeper smells of black pepper, cinnamon, vanilla bean and pipe tobacco. Entry is silky smooth, semisweet, concentrated and honeyed; the midpalate offers grainy sweet, yet spicy, tangy, fruity, nutty and floral tastes. The oak element really emerges in the aftertaste, ideally completing this sensational blended Scotch. One of the finest blended Scotches in the world. Rated 90+

According to Malt Advocate - 95 Pts - An essay in balance on both the aroma and palate. Silky layers of delicate sweetness (honeyed vanilla, caramel, light toffee) permeate through clean, delicate fruit (citrus, peach, currant), and subtle, complex dried spice. Clean finish, with a hint of dark chocolate. A very versatile, very drinkable blend which suits most moods and occasions. Indeed, a benchmark blended scotch.

I can safely say, this is an extremely exceptional value for a very good blended Scotch.

edit: it's the 750mL. Item number 229100

Yeah, I went out on my lunch break and saw they didn't have any. Additionally, the 12 year old blend was approx $50. You folks are getting it CHEAP!!!

Best buy for San Antonio folks is to wait for Twin Liquor's annual inventory reduction sale. Last year 95% of the store was $1 over cost. I'll definitely post a SD if I see something like that again.

In some states where Costco can sell liquor directly inside the warehouse (e.g. CA), you do need to be a Costco member to purchase liquor. In other states (e.g. TX), you do not need to be a Costco member, but the prices are not as good anyway.
You are incorrect. In CA you do not need a membership to buy liquor at Costco.

I agree ... I m in austin and i've seen better prices at specs as compared to costco...
OT - Check out Twin liquors. It is the best I have seen here in san antonio but only if you buy multiple bottles. (I believe they have austin locations too)

Basically it is like this, if you buy one bottle of something the price is competitive (but usually at the high end of competitive) with all other liquor stores, but they give you a big discount for buying two bottles at once.

As an example, I use Jim Beam in some of my marinades, specifically for pork loin, (though I don't mind drinking it too some times - to the chef go the spoils - ha), anyway 1-1.75L bottle is about a dollar to a dollar and a half higher at Twin liquors than at all of the other stores, but if I buy two at a time, they come average out to 3.5 dollars LESS than anywhere else.

On Topic: Sorry OP, this does look like an excellent price on Chivas. I may have to hit up costco and see if we have the same deal. TU.

Be glad you guys don't live in PA. I'd love to have anywhere other than a state regulated store to sell wine and liquor, let alone Costco.

I went to the San Diego Mission Valley Costco today. Picked up the Kirkland Speyside 20 Year Old for $46 (750ml) and they also had the 15 Year Old Kirkland (Macallan) for $49 (750) and 1.5 litre Glenmorangie 10 Year Old for $54, but they didn't have the Chivas 18 Year Old.

You may as well put the entire Costco Liquor store in this slick deal. Our costco's (Denver, CO metro area) all have liquor stores attached (no membership required) and ALL of the hard liquor is at LEAST 20% cheaper than the cheapest big discount liquor store I have been in. Good Whiskey, "top shelf" vodka, wine, beer, ect. All great deals I haven't been able to replicate anywhere. I stock up every time I go.

We are only allowed 1 Costco in the state with it's own Costco store and the prices are usually about $1 cheaper on everything but the "attached" ones are nearly as good minus the lack of Kirkland liquor. BTW, Kirkland Vodka is generic Grey Goose and tastes very close.
the KS vodka is 1.75 liter.

great price for 18 Chivas if you can find it. Never seen this one in MA. In fact, i've never seen whisky discounted in any of the COSTCO warehouses in MA.

how is the chivas 18 yrs compare to the johnnie walker blue label?

beginner wiskey drinker. Smilie
Blue label is a bit smokier, it's more comparable to the 21 year Chivas, the Royal Salute. In fact I prefer the Royal Salute to Blue Label.
