Sorry, now I understand what you typed. I was confused and thought you were talking about read/write speeds, when you actually talking about the sizes you bought and tested.

Anyways, good luck trying to convince anyone that these non-Pro Samsung drives are the best on the market. Maybe you just meant Samsung as a brand and not just this specific model.

I have to conject my 2 cents here. Sorry, but your logic is flawed. Why would anyone in the world want to buy less for more? That's essentially what you would be doing by purchasing this drive right now when the 830s (significantly better drive) were selling for less months ago. It's backward logic. These 840s should retail for half as much as the 830s did. The guy you're attacking (along with many others - I hope) feel that tech like this should (and usually does) get better and less expensive with each passing generation. Just because there's not a better deal right this very nano second doesn't mean that another deal isn't right around the corner. You can easily see that there's been a plethora of decent SSD deals (there's a search box at the upper right in case you haven't noticed), and there's most likely going to be a few more to come before the end of days. I don't understand that impatient "gotta have it" now logic. I guess if your hard drive just took a crap on you today and you want to replace it with a SSD, then you're at the mercy of whatever current deals are going on. But if you're putting together or upgrading a system (as I suspect most spectators here are), then set up your deal alerts and purchase the components over the course of a few months. You're not going to save much money purchasing everything all at once.

My mistake on previous post. Got an Intel 520 and it's pretty golden. If I had the revenue at the time I'd pick this up as a second ssd though

I was I the process buying the one this morning from EBay (adoramacamera) for 149.99, showed 59 in stock, as I was checking out with PayPal And went to complete transction, got a popup that item is no longer available. Hate hate hate it when that happens.

I have the samsng 840 250gb and it has been great, 12s to boot my mac. i bought mine for 156$ at B&H so i say this is a even better deal

It is now 2013 not 1993. Kim Il-sung is dead and Windows isn't the only OS used on the planet. Hell, even little 'ol SanDisk offers better SSD support.

Got this for 139.99 last November. This is still a good deal. I have this and the 830 and both are equally fast.
