OCZ has serious financial problems and is having problems sourcing components since they have cash flow problems and thus are past due with many Suppliers. OCZ if it does not get purchased by another Company could be gone by the end of the year! OCZ has lost 90% of it's Market Cap in the last 8 months and has not reported a profit since 2009(could be further back?) and that is as much history as I could find. Personally, I like Toshiba NANDs, which are found in Violin arrays and Sandisk consumer SSDs. |

Which works out to an 840 with TLC NAND lasting 12 years, 47 days. Which really shouldn't worry anybody who just wants an SSD to upgrade an older computer and make it a bit snappier. Last edited by Arreo; 01-18-2013 at 12:41 PM.. |

Only sequential read/write speed will be bottlenecked (ie. reading from a large file). I think the 840 Pro is worth the extra $60 you paid for it. |

it depends what you do in your computer. Most people only do web surfing, word/excel, video streaming, light gaming or light photoshop editing. The pro is definitely better, however, not everyone need that fast speed.

You should see a slew of new Models for this Marketplace by the end of the 2nd Quarter of 2013. As you can see Samsung is leading the way with the 840 Series, Intel 300 series and Plextor with the M5. Sandisk is replacing the Extreme and the other certainty is less models with Sandforce Controllers! |
