To be fair, the democrats came up with such crappy candidates that GWB was not just elected, but re-elected. I'm sensing some pot and kettle action here.

In fact, not only are we a nation filled with such idiots as to elect GWB twice and the DNC offering no one better... We now have the flipside of another power hungry idiot, but differing ideology... With two cycles of being elected quite a bit due to the other side not having a viable candidate does show one thing. Both parties are filled with dumbasses that are screwing up the country. That we keep re-electing, because we accept the dumbasses they give us to choose from to be our leadership.

No, that's not what happened. The Republicans very successfully gerry-mandered Congressional districts in a number of key states. When they do this, an area with a democrat majority is set up so that it's 85% democrats -- they concentrate the democrats together like that -- and then they spread out the republican voters so they have 5% margins in their districts.

since 90% of presidential electors come from the district apportionment if that was true then Romney would have won electoral college.

it is designed to reduce regionalism. Otherwise you would have presidential candidates only bother with the biggest cities and biggest states.

The US doesn't work on aggregate votes, but aggregations of areas. this is by design to reduce fracturous populism and regionalism. And the point stands to accuse s=republicans of gerrymandering when the dems do it just as much is absurd.

don't you think the fact that dems got more votes but repuns got more house seats is an indication that there was more gerrymandering in favor of repubs?

You are incorrect. 48 states award all of their presidential electors to the presidential candidate who wins a majority in the election state-wide. Only Nebraska and Maine split their electors.
