They also have some "Good" for $501.65.

Tax is a killer for NY state.

Thanks for the find OP, pulled the trigger too. Been trawling the Internets for a good price on this camera and also had a $150 gift card for Amazon from Dec. Belated X'mas gift for myself :-)

You'll love the camera - takes great pictures.

Only issue is that there are so many different modes and features that it takes a while to learn some of them. There are also a lot of features that sound very similar but are used slightly differently. The Sony manual that comes with the camera is the pits, it basically is just an instruction book that tells you how to turn the camera on and put the battery and memory card in. There is a more complete web based manual on Sony's site that covers all the settings but doesn't so well in explaining how they work - there is a downloadable version of this in PDF form on Sony's site as well. There are at least two books that have been published that help a lot. I bought both and have them on my iPad. The better of the two (for me) is by Gary Friedman.

Spend 35 bucks getting the grip, you won't regret. They operation of this camera is too bad without grip.

Haven't really been following amazon warehouse used prices. Is this normal for the RX100 (used from amazon warehouse) or a recent markdown? Not sure how typical it is for it to be offered by amazon warehouse either.

I'd love to get this camera, but don't plan to use it until May. So I'm willing to wait a bit for another deal to come around. Thanks.

I'm not a fan of the grip. The camera definitely needs something though. It's as slippery as a bar of soap. The first time I picked it up, I dropped it. Thankfully I have plush carpeting. No harm done. I like the skins. The leather ones give it an old school rangefinder look. Very classy. It also gives it just enough grip.

If you don't need it until May, I'd wait. Sony could announce a replacement by then which would send the RX100 plunging in price. Also, it's been cheaper than $529 new.

Guess you need wait a little bit longer. Sony updates their higher trim at 18 to 24 month each cycle.

Was planning to wait, but saw the BB 10% off open-box item coupon and decided to check out the condition of the local BB's RX100s. They had 2, one was display model and one was recently returned in pristine condition (no apparent use with everything intact). Open box price was $529.99 after 10% open box coupon = $477. I decided to pull the trigger since it looked pretty much new and it includes original manufacturer warranty w/30 day return. I guess I have 30 days to check it out and see if there are any issues. Hope there's no big price discount in the next 4 months :-p.

One other note, I saw other local BBs have it priced at $541 open box, so it seems there is some variation in the pricing even in the same area. Given that the product I bought @ 529 had no items missing/no apparent use, I can't imagine it being priced higher due to it being in a "better condition".
