Would a class 6 be a happy medium? I have a 16GB class 4 right now and it just takes forever to transfer music onto. I guess having a 32GB one would mean me having to sync the device less often, but still. BTW, are 4K read speeds really that relevant to pictures/music on the SD card or does that mostly apply to apps?

It is a faster sd card, the one at frys has a 10mb transfer rate, this one has a 30mb transfer rate. But it all depends what you need it for, the 10mb might be all you need, if your going to be recording HD video then go for the faster.

I'm a noob with how fast the read/write speed are of a card. I don't have a software to check it also. I agree that Sandisk is a much reputable brand and have more expertise in SD cards. But comparing two images from amazon both from the same program, CrystalDisk Mark, Polaroid has 20mb/s-10mb/s read-write speed compared to 14mb/s-8mb/s read-write speed for Sandisk. And for the price.. I still think that this is a better deal overall.

After having bought at least three class 10 SD/microSD cards, I found that some are much better than others in random small file transfers while having similar max transfer speeds. Cheap class 6 cards mostly do better for small random files compared to a cheap class 10, but they are really slow when transferring big movies. Better brands usually do better than advertised, and also do well on random small file writes. If I needed another microSD card, I would go for the Sandisk Ultra for $10 more.

Look at 4k speed. It's 0.1 vs 0.9.
Polaroid is crawling.
Unless you're just transferring files, it's not usable on smartphones.
It'll lag big time.

i'm glad you noticed the CDM benchmarks.

If all you wanted was sequential read/write, then obviously the Polaroid will be better. This is good if you're mainly taking pictures/videos in a P&S camera, etc..

However, if you look @ the Random 4K Write speed, it's 0.1MB/s. SanDisk is usually around 1.5MB/s (15x faster) or more (I've had as high as 2.2MB/s). I've also seen (from Patriot), speed @ 0.001MB/s (1500x slower than SanDisk!)

In this scenario, if you use your MicroSD card in your cellphone, and use it for cache memory or application storage, the SanDisk will perform much faster.
