Most pirated AV can't be updated, at least not until the company finds out and put out a patch for it. AV are useless if the virus signatures can't be updated.

No difference, except legality.

Anyways, as of 3 months ago I know that a Pro key can be used multiple times without issue, on multiple computers (and obviously for a lifetime). It doesn't even require internet for activation.. I'd recommend just buying it and using the key for all your family members computers and offer to install it for friends for $2..

Source: Ive installed malwarebytes over 1000 times from my previous job; the only time it cares about your activation key is the first time, they wont blacklist a key unless you go crazy with activations.

It is a bit crazy, but I didnt do it. I sold and installed 1000+ retail copies, all different keys.
But as for company and my home computers, all the same retail key.
