Thread Details

Saw this at my local Costco on clearance this afternoon. Tons of good reviews on Amazon.

Of course it may not be available at all Costco stores so YMMV. There was a lot left at the Ashland location in Chicago, IL.

Crossing my fingers. If I find this at Costco tomorrow, this will be awesome! I've been looking for a code reader for a long time. I hope this works on Honda cars.

By law all cars in the US have to have the OBD2 connector.

Problem now is cars have so many electronics,The readers now give limited info.

Any 1996 or newer vehicle has an OBDII plug and any reader will read the codes. The codes are standard across all manufacturers, but not always directly helpful. Some research is almost always required to identify source of problem. I paid about $150 for this a couple of years back. Saved me a bunch of money over time. A great reader. Unfortunately, my batteries leaked. I cleaned out the battery compartment and the device still works, but there is some leftover residue. I never like that as it seems to lead to battery leakage in the future. May call my local Costco and see if they have any. If you've ever needed one, this is a great find.

Automatic is a Smart Driving Assistant that uses your iPhone to communicate with the computer in your car.

The Automatic Link plugs into your car's data port enabling wireless Bluetooth 4.0 communication with your iPhone. It works with just about any car sold in the United States since 1996 and no tools are required for installation.

Using a companion app, Automatic helps you make small changes in your driving habits that can lead to huge savings on gas over time.

FEATURES:

Driving Feedback
Automatic learns about your driving style and gives you subtle audio cues when you do things that waste gas, like:
● Rough Braking: Braking abruptly decreases fuel efficiency and dramatically increases wear-and-tear on your car’s brake pads.

● Speeding: Speeding doesn't save as much time as you might think, but driving 10 MPH over the speed limit reduces fuel efficiency by 12-15%.

● Rapid Acceleration: Stepping hard on the gas pedal decreases fuel efficiency and wastes money.

Drive Score
Automatic scores your driving every week to help you improve. A high score could save you hundreds on gas every year.

Trip Timeline
The Automatic app displays detailed info about your week, like how much you drive and where. See the actual MPGs for all your trips, even for older cars that don't display fuel efficiency on the dashboard. Automatic also detects fill-ups and even tracks local gas prices to show you how much you're spending.

Crash Alert (BETA)
The Automatic Link includes a built-in accelerometer that can detect many types of crashes. Automatic uses your phone's data connection to immediately report the crash to 911 with your name, location, and vehicle description. Once help responds, Automatic can send a text message to your loved ones to let them know what happened, where you are, and that help is on the way.

Push Notifications
When the 'check engine' light comes on, Automatic alerts you right away with a push notification. It then retrieves the Engine Trouble Codes – which help mechanics diagnose the problem – from your car's onboard computer.

Engine Health
Automatic shows you what those Engine Trouble Codes mean and in many cases offers possible solutions. For simple problems, you can even clear the light yourself, and save a trip to the shop. For more complicated issues, Automatic shows you well-reviewed mechanics nearby. Call them or get directions with a tap.

Never Forget Where You Parked
Automatic always remembers where you parked, so you don't have to. Drivers of the same car can grant each other access to its parked location for seamless car sharing.

Check out a video below of the Automatic in action. You can pre-order the device for $69.95 from the link below...
