I had bought it for $1600 (1800 - 200 GC) just before new year from Amazon. Called Amazon and got $100 back.

I've been about 90% happy with this TV. I bought the 60" during BF and the only downside I've found is the flashlighting on certain parts of the screen (primarily the corners) is noticeable during dark scenes. Bright scenes look incredible though. It seems to be hit or miss on how bad the flashlighting is on each panel. It has dissipated a great deal since November, but I still notice it.

Thing that sucks about samsung is that there are no media remotes in the itunes store.

What does this mean?

Is this what you are referring to?

How does the Costco (7150) differ from the 7100? I see Best Buy and hhGregg have the 7100 for the same price.

I found a website that says "The only difference between Samsung ES7100 and the ES7150 are the Dynamic Contrast Ratio: The ES7150 model offers 18,000,000:1, while the ES7100 model offers 20,000,000:1."

I have to admit that I have no idea what that means!

The Samsung Series 7 55-inch UN55ES7100 is also available through Dell for 1497.99 with 2 yr warranty. You will see the 2nd yr of warranty when added to cart. BUT you may be able to get it 124.99 cheaper by talking to customer service and refusing 2nd yr of warranty...Not sure but possibility???? If you follow the personalize this TV link there is a option to buy without the warranty that takes you straight to chat.

Just a follow up post in case anyone else had the same question that I did. I spoke with Samsung and the 7150 is a Costco specific model. All in all it seems like a better deal than Amazon because it is essentially the same TV but it comes with a keyboard and has a better warranty.

only if want to pay around $ 150 more in taxes for 55 inch and even more for 60 inches...as per samsung website 7100 has higher contrast ratio too .. as i mentioned before buy using a good credit card for better warranty .

And if you have costco they have the UN60ES7150F model for $1749.99 + tax. Easier to return if anything goes wrong and 2 year warranty.

I paid $1949 + tax back in November.

how much did you pay including taxes

I just paid $1938.99 total. For me, the cost of the taxes was worth the price of the included keyboard, the ability to return it easily if needed and the warranty.

I spoke with Samsung about the contrast ratio and the difference between the two is only 2 million which relatively speaking will not be noticeable. Costco definitely seems like a better choice for me.

The picture quality is very, very good. So thankful to have seen this thread today.

I'm in the same boat. I have to pay taxes with Amazon so for me Costco ends up being the better choice. Are they available in store?

I read online where you can't manually add a channel with Samsung. We are ditching cable, though I did buy a digital antenna. Will it find the major network channels with channel scan (i.e., find OTA digital channels)? Any thoughts on this?
